About the Artist

Michael Emery is a self-taught sculptor with a deep reverence for the raw voice of stone. With decades of experience working with soapstone and other natural materials, his work draws on intuition, lived experience, and a quiet commitment to transformation. Each piece is a conversation—between artist and stone, form and feeling, memory and meaning. Based in Alberta, Michael brings a storyteller’s eye and a healer’s hands to everything he carves. Alongside my sculptural work, I run Unique Soapstone Experiences — offering workshops and creative programs that connect people with stone carving.
